Im not sure what a conviction will mean for him. The word is he and an other guy broke into a chicks house and stole her lap top. Allegedly there was camera phone footage of him involved in body shotting cocaine from these 2 chicks !

    http://www.foxsports.com.au/story/0,8659,27329986-5016959,00.html

Hes one guy I hope not to see in the RWC. Its was so frustrating, possibly as I see so much of him, to see his trademark Goose step put him over for his try, it really should have been picked up better by video analysis.

On looking at the video just now, there was not even a gap between them its like we had 2 concierges there taking his coat, as he entered the Lang Park Hilton, through a revolving door.

Just like the last game where ROG gifted them the opening try we gifted them 2 last night.

I remember this incident. Didn't he claim it was a dare or something? What an absolute idiot. Looks fitting of him though.

This has been up for a couple of days now and nobody has even hinted at the joke:

Dingo (Deans) has appointed Quade Cooper as a Wallaby forward selector.
Patricio (Noriega) will pick the front row while Quade will pick the locks.

    *ba-boom-tish* . . . I'm here all week, fangyouverymuchindeedy . . .

Typical mis-leading tabloid title from Fox. Deans has said no matter what the outcome of the case he will still be in his plans.

Was the headline not alluding to the fact that he could potentially be in prison for the Tri-Nations? How would a conviction affect tours as well? I'm pretty sure a US city has been considered as a potential venue for a Bledisdoe game.

Its this stuff I was more getting at. Sure the ARU can select anyone they wish I imagine record or not but there must more far reaching side affects / consequences............

Regardless some ex Wallaby or ARU rep or business man must have enough influence on some one to influence this case. Odd for a off the record caution and fine at worst.

Hes suggesting the same kind of crap that goes on with footballers in England.
Alot of the time smaller things are swept under the carpet where they can be.

He is up against a criminal court with the State charging him, not a private individual.
    Hardly a "smaller thing".

I also think you credit the ARU far more pull than it actually enjoys.

How many times have important sportsman been up in front of judges only to be given community service and suspended sentences?

On the whole visa issue with convictions thought I dont think it applies as otherwise any major sporting competition taking place in for example the states would ban anyone with a record from attending.

Happens all the time influential sportsmen get away with things, not suggesting the ARU have any super influence at all, but there is always an ex player with influence some where, a big Old Boys Union fan, or a politician, some where, in every sport and every country, who may have some positive affect for a athlete in trouble.

The US prevented an athlete recently cant remember the details from entering the US, due to criminal record. Oz also do it all the time, to all manner of people, as I have seen on Border Security Show.

Coopers case gets more interesting however, he was caught driving with an invalid license the other day. The defence argued it was "trivial and due to the nature of his job the incident should not go on his record"

The judge threw everything she could at him ie. $400 fine, banned for 6 months and it will go on his record. This cant stand well to him with this next case in a while !! Hes not likely to be rpevented access to NZ though I would some how say !

    Would you prefer Brock James?

I don't think tackling is a strong part of Kearney's game. He shouldn't be full by a goose step. You stare at the hips not the feet. Kearney is just a poor a tackler.

He makes some good scramble tackles but when he's one and one he tends to miss his man a lot.

It was the 2 flankers who he danced right through the middle of and should shoulder the blame IMO, Kearrney was the covering tackler after he was already on his way through, he could have done better, but its a bit harsh to blame Kearney after 2 flankers let him through a non existant gap with a nothing step.

True Dan. he is a kiwi, maybe they wont let him home damn traitor. Brock James is no where near a Wallabies squad with Gits, Cooper and Barnes..

He has lived in Aussie since the age of 13 and has been developed through the Australian Academy and underage system.
    Hardly a "traitor".

    I guess so.
Mind you, I never knew Cane Toads actually had a sense of humour, never mind irony :D

Well the flankers were at fault as well. But not for lack of tackling technique but for not communicating with each other.

The FB is supposed to be tracking the ball across irrespective in preparation for the break in the line. He is that position "before" the break through not only after.

Kearney's fault is more a lack of good tackling technique. In fairness, Geordan Murphy isn't much better.

Anyone with a good technique would have got Cooper.

No they wouldn't. He beats players one on one all the time, he has a fantastic side step. The defensive line is where the fault was here.

Kearney also misses tackles regularly. He doesn't fully engage his upper body in a tackle. He sort of grabbles and doesn't really drive into the player.

A side step is more effective when defenders are at full speed. This is because it is easier for defenders to adjust their lines at lower speeds and harder at fast speeds (hence one reason why the rush defense isn't the b all and end all). Neither of the players were at full speed.

Jennings missed the tackle and N Ronan was also to blame but less so than Jennings.

Was dissapointed with how badly Jennings played. I dont expect him to match players physically but missing tackles is not something I'd associate with him.

I think its safe to say that bar injury thats the last we'll see of him at this level.

In fairness lads, is it not a classic case of bad communication between Jennings and Ronan, for a split second they both thought the other had him?

Thought he was poor through out the game myself but yeah that one could be down to poor communication which I wouldn't hold against either of them under the circumstances.

And thats what i saw on the day in question your honor, he was in and out with a laptop through the fly screen over the sleeping dog past a six pack of gold as if he was walking on air.

on a serious note, there is something that annoys the hell out of me, but you have to love his spirit on the pitch
