Thanks guys I just joined this yesterday and was finding it hard to find anything about the topic!

Thanks for the link Noodleworm it was very helpful! I have been accepted to do this course at two colleges DCU being my first choice and its great to hear from someone that has done it!
I read on link that you are treated as a complete beginner starting this course, is this true? I am very interested in the course but would be beginner.

complete beginner in terms of the software you'll be using yeah, i'm goin into my final year of multimedia in DCU so i've been thru it all. you'll be expected to know what a mac is but thats pretty much it. everything else is explained in great detail, example would be writing HTML in notepad, you'r told what to do and why you do it, how doing this affects that etc.

    you'll be fine once you'r not a complete techno-phobe

Nah I'm not a complete techno-phobe so I should be grand! I done a web design course so would be familiar with HTML and things like that.

well in my first year there was 50 places on the course, however there were a couple of people who diddnt even begin the course. Now we have about 43 people left on the course going into final year.

thats par for the course tho as the course doesnt suit some people, but it's the same on every course

Its about 50 in the class but we're rarely all together.
Certain lectures there will be the whole class, others even bigger because we join up with communications and journalism.
but for the most part in the seminars, where we do the practical work on computers, we got separated into two groups of 25, and had class at different times.

also don't worry, My class had quite a few mature students and I'm sure next years class will too.
entry by PLC or methods other than CAO is quite common.

When do the transfer application results get sent out? The deadline for application was July 1st that I know but I can't seem to find when we will hear back from DCU.

I've applied to this course as a transfer student by the way. Coming from BCFE's journalism course.
