Just looking at the sunday game and I noticed that New York didnt play in Round 1 of the qualifiers. They lost to Galway narrowly in the Connacht Championship in early may so should be in the qualifiers. Anyone know why they arent?

They cant send a team over to play in Ireland cause most of the players/coaching team are not on Green cards and wouldnt get back into the States.

A few years back they beat Derry in the Ulster hurling championship and couldnt travel to Ireland to play Antrim in the Ulster final. The final had to be rescheduled for October and Antrim travelled to New York to play it

Afaik, they played Galway in the preliminary round of the Connacht Championship where the loser is just straightforward eliminated and doesn't go into the qualifiers. That and what KevIRL said!:D

I heard that if Galway had lost the game in New York, they wouldn't have been eligible for the qualifiers either, sorry Citeog I've just realised that I'm repeating what you said.

Thanks. That would've been hilarious if they beat Galway then. They weren't too far away either
