Not to sure if I'm allowed mention the box I have but I'm having real trouble with this.

Trying to flash my 500s using a null cable. I've tried every dreamup going and it just say's the same connection prepared please turn on box when I turn it on nothing happens.

I don't have the box plugged in I'm doing everything right but just can't get it to work. Is this the correct cable that I need for it because it's the only thing I can think of NEW SERIAL Null Modem Cable DB9F to DB9F RS232/RS-232

    Grateful for any help.

Does the box have an existing working image on it?

Depending on what image you are trying to flash with you also use Dreambox Control Centre. This allows you to connect to the box via your wireless router.

Yes there is/was Gemini 4.2 on it. Was having trouble with the box and was told to flash with a clone safe image. When dreamup wouldn't work I was told to try flash wizard it froze at 84% now when I connect box to tv the front green light is on but nothing on screen and the green light on the front knocks off after about 10mins

I think you may have bad flashed. Connect up the null cable but have the dm500 powered off. Power up the box after you've press send in dreamup. This seems to have cleared this problem for many people. This is not my advise but of those with experience of cloned 500's.
If this doesn't work you could always use jtag.

Make sure the image your using is not a REAL one. Only use ones that are approved for clones otherwise you'll destroy your box.

the previous posts are right. the box is stuck in a loop.the only way out of this is by using dreamup. i fixed a persons box recently by using PLI jade to reflash it on dreamup

Well. If you can't get Dreamup to work as I described (please read it again slowly) your only left with the jtag method. Google it. You will find that this is the ultimate way to redo your box. You will need to be adept in soldiering and electronics just to make the cable.

Not to sure if I'm allowed mention the box I have but I'm having real trouble with this.

If its the Dreambox (as the following posts would indicate) you cannot mention (or start threads) on it in the Cable/MMDS forum at all, as the DVB-C model has NO legitimite use in this jurisdiction.

Here in satellite you can mention the DVB-S version ONLY as long you are using it solely as a free to air satellite reciever (which is a legitimate use). You may NOT discuss using it as a means of hacking a satellite service, which is illegal.

I'm very iffy on even allowing this given the Dreambox's role in the "dodgeybox" affair, so give me any excuse and I will close this thread.
