Make Apres Match a Weekly Show

    I would love to see Apres Match make a series that would have a weekly show. Not just the sports bits but the Vincent Brown stuff etc etc. They are hilarious and there is an endless amount of stuff they could do.

    Lets get them their own show on RTE

    Don't know about that. I love Apres Match but part of the fun is the novelty that knowing they only come once in a while. It's also why they've lasted and stayed fresh for so long.

    Having written that kind of material before, I can tell you that it's VERY difficult to keep coming up with fresh, new ideas on a weekly basis. There's only so many people you can do and eventually you end up sticking to old favourites that work and exhausting it. If they did a half hour show on RTE, it would get old, fast. This place would turn on them immediately, for one.

    If it ain't broke, don't fix it, says I. Better leave the likes of yourself WISHING they were on every week than actually doing it and tiring the format.

    He did the whole "The State Of Us" show, playing all the characters. Can you imagine if they gave him the resources and a few writers.. and a bit of makeup help as well. His Pat Kenny is hilarious..
