played skellig bay in waterville on friday not knowing what to expect...must say enjoyed the round very much probably cos the weather was really good...saw that membership is only €500,looking to get my gui back after leaving previous club a few years ago,500 seems to be good value but looks to me that they must have run out of money somewhere down the line, shabby entrance, limited clubhouse/changing facilities, couple of course features unfinished....is it worth joining?

    Do you live in Waterville?.
If so, then yes I'd say it's worth it if you can't afford the €7,000 for Waterville.
Alternatively if your looking for cheaper membership, then try the Ring of Kerry, it's only €215 if you have 2 others to join with you (if you can't get 2 more, give the club a call and they will arrange 2 others for you if they can).

Give Jim a call in the club tomorrow, he's very helpful and will do everything he can to facilitate you. Ring of Kerry club no. is 064-6642000.

Similiar enough although I would say Skellig bay is a bit tougher especially from the blues, condition wise the Ring of Kerry is in much better condition at the moment (in particular the greens) and probably will be for the forseeable future imo, they have already taken on 250 new members this year through the discounted scheme and next years sub will be fixed at €300 indefinately.
Needless to say say it's up to yourself but if I was you I'd join the ROK.
