Personally for a starter I wouldn't go with the P90 as it wouldn't have good range like a M4 or G36 ect ect....

As far as I know there is no airsoft site opened in Galway at the moment though there used to be but I'm not sure what the story is with it tbh.

Theres is a new site that opened up in Sligo recently and it seems to be getting good reviews from other people :)

iv been in the indoor place that was down here friend of mine worked in there but never actually played...travelling to sligo wouldnt be a problem though.
i was thinking of the g36 as a second option.

Why does a G36 have greater range then a P90 they both have the same length of inner barrel 247mm

thats not correct the barrel lenght is the same as a g36c and some m4s just ist set back into the reciever ,and easilys out ranges most clones m4 and g36s

As somebody who has extensively use a TM P90 its an excellent all round Aeg,
very easy to you in any situation indoor or woodland
they have excellent build quality mags can be a bit pricey and the some people dont like the winding on them , personaly found that not a problem ,
good solid rate of fire ,room for upgrades, honestly it wouldnt need much doing to ,
all together there an absolute joy to use and own

I have to disagree with mle1324 - the Tokyo Marui P90 is an awesome gun and although the general fashion is to recommend the JG G36 as a starter - I'd say go for the TM. The only reasons I'd be reluctant is because of the price and cost/availability of mags.

The power might not be as high as mony of the advertised M4's or G36's but the hop up is so superior to most of those that you will in reality probably have a better range. Fact.

If you decide the sport is not for you - you will have no problem selling it as it's a quality piece and will sell easy enough.
I have a TM MP7 which shoots at 260fps and matches if not outranges many so called "upgraded" guns.

I dont own a TM P90 - but I'd like one and I've been shot by them enough to know how good they are. You wont be disappointed.

@Gatling i heard the tokyo marui p90 was good reliable gun an good build quality.
so you reckon it'd be a good gun for a beginner??

I believe the best AEG is the one that you like the look/feel off
As long as it is a good make and Tokyo Mauri are some of the best if a wee bit overpriced for what they are then go with what you are most comfortable with
If you like the P90 then I would suggest that you get the ACM P90 and spend the money that you have saved on a few extra mags batteries etc

Meh, TM. ACM is where its at! Seriously, for less money you get an AEG that's just as good.

Mid West Airsoft run by Tony also stock the ACM P90 and it is probally the nearest to you
If you like you could arrange to meet Tony (Ninjalmk) in LAC and have a look/see/feel of the P90, he is there most weekends

I started with a TM m3 super 90 and it is still with me, basicly if you like the look of the gun go with it, TM is a great make and you wont have problems with it.

Dont let other people sway you with the gun type though, if you like one in particular, go for it.

the tm p90 is a far better aeg than the acm
its brilliant out of the box

the 150 round silverback midcaps are also very very good
i find all the other mags (apart from the 68 rd mag you get with the tm) to be a bit particular about what bbs they use

by all means buy the acm p90 but it dosen't compare to the tm for range and accuracy

the tm p90 was my 1st choice as i heard they were a good brand an i like the look of the p90...tm seems to be brand favourite all i hear is good things bout them so i guess ill get the tm p90:D

In some cases they are good, but a lot of their gear has been topped by cheaper clone stuff. The P90 is a very unique gun though that they do very well, my mate has one and its a beaut. Only thing is the mags are awkward to carry which is a pain considering the gun itself is so easy carry and use.

I think one of the lads on here bought an ACM one and upgraded it to TM standards for less than the cost of a TM, but as a first timer you wont want that hassle. Also, the TM can be upgraded to a total beast(KDouglas did it) so you've got good options for the future.

There was a discussion a while back about the various P90s on the market
Have a read and see what others had to say about them

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 17 way2fastforu

@lethal bullet ya i seen the some the upgrade stuff for the tm p90 seems to be mountains of stuff to be got for it.

@Deburca thanks dude ill check it out.

The TM P90 was the second AEG I bought, I refer to it as my auld reliable. I've gone through a few AEG's at this stage and not once have I had any issues with it. I've often carried it as a backup in case of failures, and it's come out of the boot plenty of times to my rescue.
Plenty of people refer to the Mags as an issue. If you do go for one (what ever brand) I would highly recommend getting drop leg pouch from them, they are (in my opinion) too long for a vest,(I'm a short arse) though I have modified a vest to carry them. Also if you go for the 300rnd mags only put in 270rnds, I don't get jams on mine and they are China Made from Ebay(real ebay). I have marked the mags to show where to fill it to.
It's been getting most use recently since the office opened. It is spot on for CQB. I put Tac Light on one side of the Optic, and I fit a second RIS so have a laser there. To finish it off I've a Tracer Silencer, but had a small silencer before, I feel it finishes the look off nicely. I've also used it in woodland, and with it's hopup used it's got plenty of range. Also the rate of fire is high even with a 8.4 Battery.
Internals... Now I have to say I don't get folks, paying the extra premium for a TM and then replacing all the internals to "upgrade" it. If you want to go down that route buy and clone and strip it and upgrade it.

Remember TM's are specifically built for the 1J market so why mess with it.(kudos to Hoplite on this observation).

If you want something out of the box, that will work and be reliable you can't go wrong with the TM P90.
