just wondering if a player does not hand in a card and has a NR do they get 0.1 back or must a card be returned to get the 0.1 back?

If you have entered in the computer before you go out, which you're supposed to do, then you get .1 automatically if you don't return.

Yes aster you get a .1 back, but it must be said that you should never play a competitive round with the intention of not completing it.

No i'm wondering because i was playing strokeplay this weekend. Not having a great day and had an average score going onto the 17th. Then i played my 2nd to the green and it landed close to the back but when we got up there we couldn't find it (must have got some kick or something)

There was 2 groups behind us and play was slow so i didn't want to go back and play another as i wasn't on for a good score and it would probably have annoyed the lads behind.

So i had no score to be entered on my card. We played out the final hole as normal.

I wasn't sure should i put in the card like that with no score entered on the 17th or 18th or what? Should i have had the marker sign it, me sign it and put it in the way it was or what

You sign it and enter the card on the computer...press the 'no score' button for that hole. The computer makes handicap adjustments based on stableford scores anyway even in strokeplay competitions (I think to prevent bandits hand-braking by taking a 10 or whatever at the last).

Ah yeah that's absolutely fine, just enter NR for the 17th and sign the card as normal.
BTW fair play to you for not unnecessarily holding up play.
