CAP 1 results are out Friday week. I know they are posted on this day at some stage but whats the story with the online results? Is it the same section on the website where you get your mock and assessment results? And what time will they be available online? I'm hoping before 9am as I'd like to check them before I go to work...

Online about 7.30ish that morning waiting on my FAE's same day. Go to students part of website and there'll be a link. They aren't where mock assessment results are. You know they'll name and shame you it's not just your exam number.

    I've been warned...

Does this mean they have a list of the results beside each of the students names or does it just indicate if they passed or failed CAP1??

If your on the list of passes you passed if your on the list of credits you passed some failed others, if your name isn't on any you failed all the exams you sat.

They will have a list of passes by exam centre with just names under it,they will have a list of credits again by exam location with names under it.If under credit it means you passed some and failed some. You will have to wait for paper copy to see which you got and actual results.

If your name is not on there you failed all!

    It's brutal!

Thanks for replying. Will you know by looking at it how man yexams you have passed or failed?

No you'll have to wait for the post. Credit could just mean you passed one failed the rest or passed all but one etc

not sure if they still post them on the day. They didnt last year anyway. If your on credits list will need to ring for your results if you want them that day.

It sounds like a horrible system :(

What if you passed all of them (I wish!), but had an exemption from one? Would you be on the pass list (for passing all of them that you sat), or would you just be on the credits list because you didn't pass all of the CAP1 exams?! (Does that make sense?!)

You'd be on the pass list AFAIK. It only applies to papers that you actually sat.

Kind of don't care anymore. When you're in an unfair system that trys its hardest to fail you, you lose interest. Best of luck though. Apparently results are posted same day so you should get them later that day.

Dreading management accounting & finance results. Actually all of them did not go so good for me. Think I underestimated the amount of study that was involved, even though I went to most of my classes throughout the year, I think i just left it too late in the day to start real study. O well, just need to swot up for September.
Can everyone see who failed some so on the website? Or only CAI members?

Ya anyone who goes to the institute website can see them. you dont need to log in.
And the results werent sent in the post until the following week last year anyway. Not sure what way it will be this year!

    Best of luck all!

I've heard rumours that they've changed the system this year so that, if you log in, you can see on your student page the results for individual subjects. Anyone know if there's any truth to this at all?

Just got an email there from the institute saying we are listed by our exam number. So maybe our names are no on it at all!! Hope so, dont want every one knowing my results! :-(

    Frickin credits list. As expected.

**** up of a system. Really want to know how many I'm repeating.

Heh. Got 70%+ in all the 100% subjects ... and managed to fail Law, which 90% of people passed. Typical! At least it's only the one, and I know I can pass the repeat.

    How did everyone else do?

I'm dreading going into work, everyone will have seen I'm on the credits list :(

Ring the Institute, the number is 01-6377200. I was just put through to voicemail the first couple of times, but got talking to someone then. You just need either your student number or your exam number.

Passed them all (somehow), maybe the Institute does actually want us to pass. Was exempt from Finance though, apparently a lot of people failed this.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7 GillyT

wooo, passed them all, thanks for the number, rang up for breakdown as my post doesnt come til afternoon.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,486 ✭✭✭manafana

well done tho those that passed, i see management was 50% pass rate, for those with repeats keep head up if you do the work you'll get the rewards.

Failed the Finance exam but passed the others.. got some good notes from accountancygrindschool.com and also had some help

But i think the institute haven't got a clue ! Roll on the repeats

Quick question and i don't really want to start a whole new thread for it. I'm applying for exemptions. Am I understanding the form correctly, in that everyone has to do the exam for/ or get an exemption for both NI and ROI tax and law. Or is it one or the other depending on where your studying? Thanks

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 102 ✭✭techman

    Not both ROI and NI.

Just one, depending on where you are sitting the exam.

You really dont want to fail in Sept'10

Just confirms my opinion that I am indeed the only person in the country repeating Law (and only Law!) :D

    Oh and spam reported ...
