Hi, I will be commuting by train to college next year (Portlaoise to Dublin), and I'm trying to find out what is my best option regarding an annual/seasonal ticket. So far I've only noticed 12 month tickets. Is there an 'academic' equivalent, that runs from September to June, or can I request one? I would also like the luas/90 bus included?

you can get a student rail monthly and also a bus and rail but not sure if these include the luas. afaik there is no yearly student ticket. with bus eireann a student ten journey should be €42 between portlaois and dublin but this does not include luas or dublin bus.

Dublin Coach also do a €3 single student fare to the red cow luas stop which could be €30 or less per week plus luas/bus fares

also if you want rail prices ask at the station as irish rail dont advertise any of their normal student/commuter fares, ask about a ten journey point to point fare for portlaoise to dublin and also about a monthly giant hop ticket which i imagine could be quite expensive
