Dry cleaners problem

    Hi,

we left in a living room rug to the dry cleaners. It is white and had a few stains on it.

We just collected it yesterday, and not only are some stains still there, but the rug is now a different colour, a kind of dirty beige now. You can still see bits of the original colour on the rug.

The manager said he couldn't get it any cleaner. Charge was 25 euro.

What can we expect, as essentially they have ruined the look of the rug? It came out worse than it went in.

    Thanks

Does the rug say on it that it is suitable for dry cleaning? (They should have checked, but you would not have much hope if it says not for dry cleaning).

If it does, then all you can do is go back and argue your case.

Usually rugs would be washed in a large conventional machine with water. Yours may have been put in with a darker coloured rug and some colour transferred?

I would suggest writing to the cleaners asking them to repair your now discoloured rug and if they fail to do this then pay for a replacement.
