Herd Numbers

Quick question that I'm hoping someone on here will be able to help with.

Currently, we farm bulls for beef and have a herd number for this. I wanted to get some pigs though. They would probably be just a hobby, but possibly moving into slightly larger scale if I got on well with them.

Just wondering - will a herd number for cattle be ok for pigs too, or is there a seperate number needed?

    Thanks in advance!

No its a different code in the format - (letter) (letter) (no.) (no.) (no.)

as opposed to the- (letter) (no.) (no.) (no.) (no.) (no.) (no.) (no.) - i think thats the right number of no.'s- format for cattle.

in donegal here the letters are ZE and then just 3 digits.

when they go the the factory this is slap marked on one shoulder to identify the carcases
