to everyone, what are your views

was just wondering why people on boards.ie are so far stuck up their own hole, iv bien reading threw quiet a few topics and everyone seems to be either a know it all or perfect in their own way, i cant see it bien a very friendly place for new comers to the site as it certainly puts me off it. just wondering what are peoples views on this... altho most normal people prob aint on this site but said id ask anyway. i really dont see why people would like to be like that, like is it coz they have no life and want to be someone but can only do it threw the internet or what?? some people really really need a reality check and need to come down a peg or two!!, they have serious chips on their shoulders:)

It is tough on newcomers, motors I mean. By that I dont mean people who dont know things about cars but people who have an opinion. LIke there was a thread abouts some guy trying to get a motoring blog started and though a lot of the criticism was constructive there was still a lot that was just pointless put downs with out a real basis for it. It is a place you need to have the ability to fight your corner. There is a lot of ****e posted on this forum, Motors I mean, but at the end of the day the Motors forum is open to everyone, its not face to face and idiots can get their say and fight about it. Equally perfectly knowledge people can contribute. Then people with common opinions can gang up on alternative opinions, sometimes rightly sometimes wrongly. There are genuine people who frequent the forum who are out to help best they can and not talk down to people. Its also a place where you will see people treat know it alls and abrasive people with their own attitude.

Its the internet and its something you have to get used to however in general I think its a generally good community of people who frequent here. Theres only one or two bad aspects compared to a host of good and great ones.

After hours can be a hell hole if you don't go in there with common sense. There is a drumming forum that I was very active on and its the friendliest forum Ive been on but they have a section like after hours and its one that you need a thick skin for. Point being, there are so many places here and its only one or two forums that can be "bad".

Now, I have made my point but there is now something I have to question you on. How can you generalise that every member is either stuck up their own hole, a know it all or perfect? There is more about your post that is just a little bit silly but I wont get on about those, Im sure someone else will.

Whats this got to do with motors? Send your complaints to the admins if you don't like the place, or don't visit the site. For every negative comment, there's also a positive. If you go onto any site and pose a question, or give an opinion, you have to expect people to disagree, mock, etc, etc.

I generally disagree with alot of people here (I've been banned a number of times because of it! )

I am that person trying to get the motoring blog going, and it's going strong btw.
You have to understand that on a forum if you ask a question that's already been answered you will be shouted at, that's the nature. Because you're not standing face to face with the person there's more of a chance of flaming.
If you post a bit then you get used to it, you learn what's good advice and what's bad.
Motors isn't by any means the worst of them, there's some really nice people post in here too.
