What does this link up mean?

Irish Citylink and Callinan Coaches of Galway join forces going forward.

As part of the proposals under discussion, Irish Citylink’s coach services will be outsourced to Callinan Coaches.

Hi sorry for the thread bump but does anyone know if all the Citylink drivers still work for Calinan coaches or has that arrangement come to an end? If so who do they currently work for please?

The route is still operated by Callinan Coaches under contract with Citylink.

And fantastic quality coaches they operate, lovely Vanhool overdeckers. Easily the best coach in Ireland IMO.

Which route are you referring to? One of the coaches I took recently has little or no leg room and no power points at all. Am not sure if it was a Citylink or Callinan coach. Am not sure what an overdecker is?

An overdecker is a coach where you go up a stairs behind the driver and can sit directly above the driver.

Kind of like a double decker, but not quiet a full double decker. There maybe a few seats behind the driver, but not for the full length of the coach as there is also a lot of baggage space.

They have a lot more seats then a single decker, but less then a double decker (but a lot more luggage space).

VanHool makes arguably the best coaches. German Belgian company, with superb build quality, they age very well.

Seat spacing is down to a decision by the company when ordering the coach as to how many seats to squeeze in. For instance BE's latest coaches are extremely small leg room, to fit in more seats. There was plenty of legroom on the overdecker I took to Galway two years ago. But perhaps they are trying to squeeze more seats in now.

If there are no plugs, then I suspect it is an older coach.

Just to correct this post, VanHool is actually a Belgian company.
