Temperature Control Problems With Triton T90Si - Could Gunk In The Filter Be Guilty?

    Hi,

Before I replace our T90Si, can anyone tell me if the gunk in the filter in these pics would be enough to cause this problem?

Since March or so, the temperature from this shower has been impossible to regulate. It seems to maintain the temperature set when the power is turned on, but we can't change it mid-shower. Sometimes the temperature creeps up (and sometimes it comes back down, sometimes not) mid-shower.

My dad has donated a new Mira Sprint that came free with a bathroom suite he got a few years ago, but before I go to that trouble, I'd like to know if the Triton problem could be fixed?

Could well be enough there to restrict the flow causing the thermal trip to operate temporarily. There is a series of current posts on DIY forum about this problem on T90si ( I have one myself ) - I suggest you read them .

Thanks steamengine - wasn't sure whether to post here or on DIY. I'll have a look over there.

Less the 'burning' part of the OP's post your problem is the same and it looks like the solution is quite simple. The shower heads need regular cleaning also, as this causes flow issues as well. See my post - its the last on the thread. Good luck !!!

As stated. Clean the head and filter... Clean the head in a solution of 50% clear vinager and water. It kills all the lime.

Dont leave the head soak too long as the vinager is acidic...

    It works great.

Dont use the vinager on the filter as it might break down the seal. Just clean the filter with water.
