Sole Trader Startup Question

i wonder if anyone could help me here, i'd appreciate some advice.

i'm planning on registering with the cro as a sole trader and registering for income tax. the business will be very small, i really don't think i will earn more than a couple of hundred a year, if that. i want to sell photography/art prints.

at the moment i am full time employed, but in september i will become part time employed while still holding onto my full time contract. from september i will also be attending a full time third level access course.

i also just got married but my husband and i are not being assessed for tax jointly, we had thought to do that after the first year of marriage as it doesn't apply until then anyway.

would it be better to start all this in september when i am part time employed rather than now when i am full time employed? it might get a bit complicated if i am self employed as well as full and then part time with an employer?

i hope i have explained that well enough! can anyone offer advice?

as i understand it my income from being self employed will be added onto my other earnings and i will be taxed on it all together?
