Some people might believe that there’s no such thing as too much Glee, but the show’s creator, Ryan Murphy, is not necessarily one of them. According to New York Magazine, Murphy nixed the previously-announced Glee reality show, in which unknowns would compete to appear in upcoming episodes of the hit television show, because it would require too much attention. A FOX spokesperson concurred, saying “There’s only so many hours in his day.” Hopeful songbirds who had already uploaded audition video to the proposed reality show’s MySpace page shouldn’t despair: Videos have been received and evaluated by the show’s producers, and the most promising talents could still be cast on Glee.

    I'm glad tbh

After the reported demise of Fox's planned Glee reality series, Oxygen has snagged the rights to air the project in 2011, Deadline.com reports.
The untitled project, set to debut next summer, will showcase contestants battling for a guest spot on Glee. As part of the deal, Oxygen will also produce two original Glee-themed specials and begin broadcasting repeats of the hit musical series in 2013.
Fox originally planned to premiere the reality show this summer, but the network pulled the project when creator Ryan Murphy said he didn't have the time to oversee both the reality series and the show's sophomore season.

    :(

This 10-episode series pits 12 contestants against each other to land a recurring role for Glee's third season. Each week the hopefuls receive a "homework assignment" that involves creating a music video. The premiere features their stab at Katy Perry's "Firework" and an appearance by Glee star Darren Criss, who serves as mentor.

    Starts 12th of June

I heard a guy wins this..I am thinking Samuel or Damien..! Ryan Murphy said the new character from the Glee Project will play Sue's love interests son and that HE(the GP winner) hates Sue!

Someone should hire Marissa for Smash....that would really piss Murphy/Fox off!

If Alex wins this I'll be seriously annoyed. I've been watching it online instead of waiting for it on sky and they are doing everything to suit Alex. Twice they made guys play gay for him and he doesn't have to play straight for anyone... It's crazy. I want Damian to win soo much. I've read that Sam is next to go so fingers crossed :D

Sam is getting a little too cocky for my liking, I'm really hoping he leaves next...
I think Damien's going to win, he hasn't signed up for the next Celtic Thunder tour so perhaps he is too busy filming Glee? :D Here's hoping!

Have you been watching it online ?? I was so mad Sam didn't go on Sunday night. I read on spoilers he was supposed to :/ Sam brings nothing to the competition, He just has this really angry stare.

Yeah I've been watching it online :D sky 1 is so far behind!! Ugh I was raging, he's just not very Glee? And I agree with you about the Alex stuff but they'll never make him play straight in any video cause of gay rights and that, which is understandable! I did feel sorry for him in the last episode though, especially cause Lindsey tried to turn the attention to her! Man, I love TGP haha!

I dislike Sam so much. But I've always had a feeling they wanted him or Lindsay to win.
The only person I actually like who's left is
    Damian
    . He's so sweet and likeable. HE.MUST.WIN.

Damien to win :D:D That would be awesome :)

I'm sadly watching it on SKY but I had a huge chat with a friend today who watches it online and told me everything that had happened up to now!

Finale is tonight [US pace]....think Samuel will win.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 21,634 ✭✭✭✭Richard Dower

    And the winner is.......
    Damian McGinty

Thoughts?, happy?...um, scratch that...everbody won

    Bloody Ryan Murphy:
Yes, indeed, Glee co-creator and executive producer Ryan Murphy dropped a bombshell at the end of Sunday night’s season finale that both Samuel and Damian had won respective seven-episode arcs on Season 3 of the Glee mothership.

What’s more, fellow finalists Lindsay Pearce and Alex Newell scored pretty darn enviable consolation prizes — each winning two-episode guest arcs when the action returns to the fictional William McKinley High School on Tuesday, Sept. 20.

Seem to be weeks behind everyone else, just watched the finale tonight on Sky. Started of not liking this show but it became kinda addictive. It had a very sickly sweet ending
    'everyone's a winner'

Was surprised with the outcome, especially considering the mentors comments to each wannabe when Nikki told
Damian that he wasn't the best actor, singer or dancer remaining I thought he was finished
I agree with those comments and get the impression that they will be just more of the same on the show.

I liked the choice of the first winner named
    Sam
, they have something different that hasn't been seen on Glee before. Glad that acts 3 and 4 get a chance for a 2 story arc, hope it goes well for them.

Not sure where Glee is going overall though. The charm and joy from the first half of season one is gone, season two was more miss than hit, it could be a difficult season for the show. I'll still be tuning in though, for the time being anyway!

Winner Damian McGinty, 18, will debut in week 4 as a foreign exchange student who “shacks up” with Brittany (Heather Morris). The show’s other winner Samuel Larsen will appear in episode 10 or 11 as a relative of Puck (Mark Salling).
