    Grafenwalder Pils 5L Draught Keg @ €12.99

    Anyone ever try this?

I bought it yesterday and just opened it. Not easy to pour properly. After 2 pints I'm gettin the hang of it.

    Not bad beer, not great.

think its 5% its 5 l so you'd get around 9 pints but if you give a generous head on each ( as in european style ) you;ll fill over ten servings of beer ( the beer is ok , keep an eye out for the Weiss beer one too its good)

Not that cheap if you look at it in euro per litre.

Much prefer bottles to those kegs, especially for weiss beer.

The LIDL's here (well just across the border in Germany) sell it (the Weiss bier) in plastic bottles for about 40c a bottle.

I grab it now & then, and I think its fine. I don't mind the plastic, as I did home brew for years and used plastic.

Those kegs need to spend a long time in the fridge before you can get a good pour, at least 12 hours. However I think those kegs give a better quality beer then cans or bottles. Plus it's just cool having a keg.

finished the keg today! not bad at all. Will try again. When you open it the first time be ready to spray it all over yourself. After that though you figure it out and its good. Draught taste if that makes sense. I've none left and I'm drinkin bottles of beer. Its not the same. Will buy it again no doubt.
