Any yet another question about the Garmin.....

Just got one of these as a prez and before I download the software I want to know whether I can use it on two computers? Does the data save on the computer or on garmin's website? Can I use the same usb key on two different laptops?

    Cheers,
    Alan

Not much help here but if its anything like a garmin305, and I suspect it should be, then yes you can.

I have "Gstart" installed on two computers, and you can keep copying the data off the gps to as many computers as you like.

Well, see, you need to upload it to a computer using the wireless USB stick, which needs to have drivers installed. Once you have the drivers installed and the USB stick, you can upload activities to any computer.

Activities typically get stored in the local computer and uploaded to Garmin connect (this is an option in the USB stick's software (Garmin ANT Agent). So if you plan on just using Garmin connect (via the web) then you're fine. If you want to store them all locally, well obviously you'll have a problem. You could always just download them from Garmin Connect to the computer you want to store them centrally on.

Hope that makes sense. The Forerunner support line will be closing shortly for the night. Last orders are being served.

jumping in here but can you export / upload sporttracks logs to Garmin connect? if so, how?

SportTracks exports in GPX format. Garmin Connect expects TCX (Training Centre XML). Even if you converted from one format to the other, I don't think that Sportstracks contains/exports all the information that Garmin Connect would expect.
