Wednesday August 11th 2010 (as part of Ballinamore Festival 2010)
6pm - Registration Ballinamore Sports Hall (Enniskillen Road)
7.30pm - Start 10km Road Race & 5km Fun Run/Walk
9pm – Presentation of prizes in Ballinamore Sports Hall

Entry Fees: 10km - €15 online or postal entry before Friday August 6th
(€20 late entry / on the day)
5km - €10 online or postal entry before Friday August 6th
(€15 late entry / on the day)
Under 16’s - €5 on the day

looks like a lovely route for the 10k out along the canal - nice race for mid week!

And of course its on during the Annual Festival week in Ballinamore, so expect great crowds and atmosphere as the race runs through the town for the first mile or so and then finish back in the town.

Unfortunately there is nothing on the August b/hol weekend this year. It is hoped that this road race will be an annual event so hopefully we'll see you some year!

If I'm in Leitrim on that weekend I will definitely do it.
Is there a map of the route or failing that which end of the town does it start and what road does it head out

Yes, this is the map of the route - starts on the Enniskillen road runs down through the town, out the Golf Links road along the canal and back in to the town from the Carrick-on-Shannon road:

Just a reminder for those interested, the online entry system closes today. You can still enter right up until race day but will be €5 extra.

Lots of prizes on offer for all categories incl cash prize for men and women in 10km as well as spot prizes. First Leitrim finisher in 10km will win a membership voucher for Aura Leitrim Leisure in Carrick on Shannon. Will be sponsored hampers from Cara Pharmacies worth more than €100 as well as other local sponsored prizes. All participants will receive a commemorative t-shirt.

Ballinamore Festival starts on Sunday and goes on for the full week so will be a great atmosphere around town.

Looks pretty quick, net downhill, fast 1st and last k and nothing too hairy in the middle.
