    Hi guys,

ive been browsing the forums for a while looking for a solution.

basically my sky has to go because cant afford it no mores.

i was gonna buy the set from B & Q although it seems to be getting mixed reviews. is it a handy cheap and cheerful way to go?

also i know you can use sky satellite but does the angle need to be changed to pick up the right signal and as i have an ALBA TV with built in freesat so can i just hook my sky dish straight up to my TV and scan and pick up the channels or is this possible also therefore i wouldnt need to buy the stuff from b & Q.

thanks guys. im really crap at this stuff for someone who is supposed to be a techno geek.

To save hassle and expense, why not just pull the Sky card out of your existing box and power it on / off? You may be surprised at what is available for free - plus you will not have to tune in any channels manually like with the B&Q box.

I don't think Alba make Freesat TVs - they make Freeview TVs, which is completely different and not what you are looking for.

Besides, your Sky box and existing TV can pick up all the main UK channels without a subscription or any hardware / angle changes.

    No worries.

Sky may also offer you a deal to tempt you to stay with them. They offered me a €10/month package (two mixes) for six months. Not too bad really! :)
