Zymol auto bathe --> Meguaires Clay --> Mequaires Paint cleaner --> Zymol Carnauba Carbon

    Tough going but worth it.

I was using the Zymol HD cleanse and switched to the Mequaires Paint cleaner. I had never used it before but its Excellent. Very easy to apply and wipe off. Leves an excellent finish for waxing. I have a feeling its a slight abrasive but not too fussed due to the fact it only happens twice per year.

I cover it with a Noah when not in use.

I tried a liquid clean and polish on my car last week - not the same finish you got... but I have to say the metallic is shining like it when it was new. I am not saying it's the "craftsmans" choice buy for a quick result on your daily driver it was perfect. Spray on, wipe off. Then a quick tickle with Autoglym Show and Shine (orange coloured aerosol) - which is also excellent for making plastic rear windows (mx5, Land Rover, etc) less milky coloured.

    btw your BMW looks great!

    Snap!
Just did the same 30mins ago, albeit with a lot less effort. I took the lazymans route, Turtlewax Ice. Rubs on and buffs off in about 45mins flat.

I love that you can rub it straight on over the rubber moldings no problem. Also took the headlamps apart last week and used PlastX on all 6 lenses.

A tip for Voodoo (maybe? don't have your car) and E39.. The black plastic bit beside the wing mirror, and the plastic around the mirrors - Brasso brings them up really shiny and best of all it it lasts!

    Mucho gracias.

In fact I was also going to post a pic (before and after) of that exact same part. I got some of the Meguaires cleaner on there by mistake and lo and behold it came up a treat too.

I hate it when those parts age badly. They look terrible in contrast to well maintained paint.

Thanks very much for the tip.
