Flooding problem in the garden, so dug up trenches and put down pebbles for drainage.
So just wondering how much topsoil (inches) should one have over the pebbles so that grass with grow properly?

    Anyone have any idea? Thanks...

4 inches of soil should be enough. but if you have chance you can put more.never is too much

Shallow soak pits are rarely successful on wet sites and depending on how severe the flooding problem is will only cause soil to subside and mix with pebble to create potentially a bigger problem.

Trenches should be at least 900mm deep and contain at least 300mm pebble but if the water is not collected it will cause subsidence and uneven surface levels etc.
