    Hello,

    Im flying into to San Francisco or Washingtom State.

    Anyone every drove to Alaska { Anchorage } before? I want to drive up from the states but heard the road were terriable and cost of fuel wouldnt be worth it? this true?
    :confused:
    Problem is i have a 6ft 5 300lb uncle who in small spaces freaks out so flying is out :mad:

    My 2 ideas is take a boat from Bellingham Seattle to Seaward South Anchorage and take the car on the boat.

    or

    Drive the 3000+ miles there and 3000+ miles back but i will be in a rental car so if anything happens to it on the way i.e breakdowns,crashs etc im at fault :{

    Have you looked at a map?

    It would take over a week to get there at least. And those roads arent freeways, they're probably dirt considering they're under 10feet of snow most of the year.

    I doubt you'll find a Car hire company willing to rent you a car for that trip. But maybe. You're talking about being in some seriously remote places for quite a time, I would advise against it.

    I think you can take a ferry from Seattle?
