I was just wondering is it possible for somebody to lodge money into your bank account once they have your account number and sort code? If so what do they need to do? Is it as simple as walking into the bank and asking the person behind the desk to lodge the money for you? Any info would be great. I am with bank of Ireland. Thanks.

Essentially yes, but they will need to walk into a BOI branch, or transfer money online
