I was at the fight and I've also now watched it back on youtube.
Kavanagh is very fast and he tries to box smart and out-think/out-speed his opponent in there. He's quite calm and collect in there aswell and he blocks and parries a lot of shots and his footwork(although it needs plenty of work) is very impressive for a 2 fight novice. That's the positives.

The negatives are he doesn't seem that big a puncher, he didn't capitalise when his opponent swung widely and left himself open and he also stood in front of his opponent(a little square on aswell) just trying to block and parry shots and not trying to counter afterwards. He got caught a couple of times stupidly due to this. He also got caught with some winging left hooks behind his guard, but with his opponents reach there was always a real chance of that.
He also doesn't really throw hooks to the body, there's nothing wrong with his left hook to the head but he won't throw that shot to the body and at times Jamie flurries with just straight punches. Doing that can cause you to go in and out in straight lines a lot(something Amir Khan did earlier in his career) and leaves you quite predictable and a little open.

He was very impressive for a 2 fight novice of his age, but he still has loads to learn.
