I am doing a bit editing for someone. Basically it involves download youtube clips slightly edititing it and then reuploading it to youtube again

Instead of doing this can you just post links to the original youtube footage? Is there any disadvantage? And how do you make it appear on their website as a clip rather than merely a link?

Not sure what you are trying to achieve here. Videos on youtube have code to allow you to embed a video into your own website. (Click on the word embed under the video you want to use).

There are lots of examples of this - if you can't find any I can send you some.

Regarding the editing - if you are trying to automate this so that you have something that downloads and edits a video and then re-uploads - afaik that would be a serious bit of work.
