old bikes....what to do with them???

    hey i have an old jalopey mountain bike.....served me well over the years. its in fairly rag order now and i want to get rid of it but i dont want to just chuck it in a skip. does anyone know of a bike shop in dublin that takes in old bikes, repairs them and sells them on??? not looking for anything for the bike... i heard about some charity that were doing this a few years ago but i couldnt find anything out about them......

    or just leave it with a crap lock in public view. my 10 year old very very weighty Raleigh mountain bike, which i got knocked off and was bashed to hell ( front and rear wheels folded, forks bent slightly, handlebars not so smooth etc etc ) , was left outside my apt and systematically stripped down by someone, until all that was left was the frame, and even that was taken within a week!

    left it outside my apt after getting knocked over. at the time i just wanted to get checked out in hospital so completely forgot about it. i live inside a gated apartment complex, but it was in view of the gate.

    was going to bring it to rothar but it was ravaged within a day or so. id say that even in perfect condition it would only be worth 50 quid, cant have been worth half that after the accident!

    maby i should try the same with some tat and crap ive been trying to get rid of for ages!
