Cyfra+ HD Receiver Recommendations

I bought a Cyfra+ hd card and I am wondering what receiver to buy for it. My budget is under €150. I know a few people on this forum have Cyfra+ cards and I am just wondering what hd receiver is the best one to use and the least expensive. I am currently thinking about the Ferguson Ariva 100E at €99 but any opinions would be appreciated.

The argus mini HD's will work fine, support is also good for them.

Opticum HD receivers also very good

Im sure the ferguson would do the job, i was running a Cyfra+ card in a fergurson recently with no problems!

I have a Digitalb hd receiver with a conax embedded card slot and I also have a head challenger with a conax embedded slot. Will the cyfra+ card work in either of these receivers and if I stick a cyfra+ card into these receivers to check if it will work will it damage the card or the receiver?

I've just ordered a Cyfra + card after great reviews from snaps & co, just wondering will it activate in a Dreambox 800 Hd??

Might have to whip out my TM again if not

I have a Cyfra+ card in a DM800 and it works fine. It does depend on what CAM you use. I have cccam and I needed a slight change to my cfg file. Let me me know if you're on the same CAM and I will let you know the change. BTW, I'm on version 2.13 so 2.14 might read it without any changes

Hi m8 I'm using 2.1.4 Cccam, so I'll try it in that to see how it goes - I'll pm you if I need a hand with the cfg....

Just got the card lads, working away in CCcam no probs

Cyfra had worked fine on 2.1.1 up until end of September. Now the entitlements aren't updateing on 0068 and it isn't possible to watch the channels.

Just wondering is this a known issue with CCcam2.1.1 that requires an upgrade to a newer version?

possibly prob with 2.1.1. my cyfra hd card works no problem on ccam 2.1.4 and is updated till end of november at mo

2.1.4 is updating the card with no issues here too.

Looks like I have to bump my box up to 2.1.4 so. Is there any specific config needed to run it? prio file of seca handlers?

Nope, it should be available through the blue button to download and thats all you need.

Nah...running nabilo and it doesn't have the cam available in the list. Card is in a 500s. Going to have to reflash it I think.

try pli for 500 s they have new final images for all e1 dms. also should have 2.1.4 on theirs for your cyfra card to update

I've installed pli with 2.1.4 but still no joy on updated entitlement despite 6 emm.

handled 393(0) ecms and 6(6) emms
0000 CYFRA + : 2010-11-28
0068 CYFRA+ 1 : 2010-09-21
0065 CYFRA+ 2 : 1992-01-01

config file specifies default seca handler option. Have read some people had to get their card reactivated by satsklep. I've emailed them in case that is the problem.

maybe the fact your card has expired on the cyfra 01 ebntitelments you will need it reactivated?? i often go to tvp 2 even though it is scrambled seems to send entitlement update quicker -- but that could be just me??

pli is much safer image than gemini if you are using clone box. i have it on my dm600 clone for last 2 years and no probs here. also rytec epg is incorporated in it.

I emailed satsklep and they must have reactivated the card. Entitlements are now back. Thanks for your help lads.

I need my cyfra+ card activated, should I leave it in the receiver and at what channel or ring satsklep ?

hi mate

it should be activated if not working when you put it on say canal+ sport 2 then contact satsklep and leave card in reciever on canal+ sport while they send an activation signal. then it will keep itself updated.

EDIT: Lads I have been told by a couple of people that Cyfra cards will no longer update in CCcam!

mine had same problem few weeks back as i should have left it on overnight to update so had to email satsklep to send an activation signal which they did promply and i put it on tvp2 for hour and it picked up the emm and updated the second entitlement then till august

Aye, as I said a couple of other lads have told me that CCcam no longer seems to update Cyfra for them. Hope this aint true as an email every few weeks to send an activation is a pain in the arse.

Hi guys,
Im thinking of buying an amiko 8900 alien linux box.

Before i do i wonder will a cyfra+ card work in it? I see the box has a card reader slot but the polsat card seems to come with a 'cam' that i must put the card into before putting it in the box....

The thing is that the box doesnt appear to have a slot big enough for a cam, just a card reader......Will i be able to put the card in without the cam thingy? Is it just simply a case of software being installed to the same job as the cam?

I am fairly new to this so any help would be appreciated , thanks very much guys!

Cyfra and Polsat are two different providers.

Polsat will only work in its CAM, Cyfra should work in a card slot. I don't know anything about the box you mentioned, but presumably there are different soft cams you can try.
