Would I get noticable extra distance with a 16deg hybrid over 19deg

This may just be one of those how long is a piece of string questions but I have a 19deg Cleveland hibore xls hybrid and really like it. I bought it as am useless with a 3wood. I am now thinking of getting a 16deg.
My question is what sort of extra distance would i be expected to get. I hit the 19deg around the 200yard mark so if its not a noticable amount then may just spend my money on something else

    Yes and no I'd guess!
16 degrees seems pretty low for a hybrid... I'd be trying one out if I were you before buying. Might be too difficult to hit, particularly if the lie isn't great?
I carry a 3 wood (14.5 degrees) and 2 hybrids, a 19 and a 22 degree. The 19 is naturally longer than the 22 but not a huge difference in distance for me. To be honest I don't exactly know how far I hit it but I know that I carry the 22 degree 205-210 yards and the 19 degree goes a bit further!

I suppose since you say that the 3 wood sucks for you and you like the hybrid a lot then it seems an obvious choice to make, so long as it's somewhat easier to hit than your 3 wood. I find my strong rescue a lot safer option than my 3 wood but the loft is more forgiving than the one you are considering.

I reckon you'd probably only get 10 or 12 yards.
I use a 19 degree stiff shaft rescue, Id be concerned that a 16 degree would be difficult to get out of the rough etc

I actually play with 2 hybrids - Taylor Made 19 and Cleaveland Launcher 15.5 and no fairway woods (Ping G2 Stiff shaft 8.5 degree Driver)

Anyway get about 190/200 with the 19 degree & around 220 with 15.5 (seems to run further along the ground) . Hit both clubs well provided I don't try & force them. (Play off 10)

Hope this helps , I'd say go for it, not too expensive either I got the Cleaveland for €60 as it was the previous years model.

Apparently there is a good bit of difference - the 16deg will not balloon like the 19deg tends to. The launch with the 16deg is a lot better apparently a more boring piercing flight. BTW this is what my friend says since he uses hybrids hes a very good 4/5 handicap aswell - he started with a 19 got a 16 and then just got rid of the 19 since he said the 16 totally replaced it

See if you can try it out first is the best bet.
You'll get a bit more yardage if you have enough clubhead speed to launch it correctly.
You often see players who hit their 5 woods further than their 3 woods because of the greater carry and they don't actually launch their 3 woods enough.

I think there was an article in Golf World last month about this - not specifically hybrids, but it was suggesting that tests show that most golfers would hit a 4 wood further than a 3 wood.

Also it depends on what you want to use it for mostly, is it the low "stinger" (God I hate that phrase !!) type shot on a narrow hole ? or more general use from fairway, light rough, some tee shots etc etc ?

I'm guessing that I would be looking to use the 16deg more off the tee as I hit the 19deg really well off the tee and also from good fairway/light rough lies. I have decent enough clubhead speed so would expect the launch to be ok.

I was out last night and was checking more how far the 19deg went and was hitting it over 220yds off the tee with not too much run from high ball flight.
