Hi everyone, hope this is the right place (apologies if it's not) to get a bit of advice..bought one of these to-day.http://www.argos.ie/static/Product/partNumber/5344204/Trail/searchtext%3EAERIAL+BOOSTERS.htm

Bear with me here, anyway on my television there's TV, DTV, Ext1 (scart),Hdmi options etc.. when I hooked up the aerial and did a scan i got TV3 and TG4 on the tv option and on the DTV i got numberous RTE radio channels plus RTE1, RTE2 and TG4 tv channels with a programme guide etc.. ..but when i select to watch any of the TV channels all I get is the channel sound (can hear Stephen Alkin commentating on Italy and Slovakia) but no picture and a message "the video format is not supported" tried numberous options on the menu page of my t.v. with no luck.

Question: is this just a test for RTE whereas you can't get picture yet? or is there something i'm doing wrong?

    Thanks in Advance

Your TV is not capable of decoding the transmissions. You need one that can handle MPEG4. Yours more than likely has a UK style Freeview tuner (MPEG2). There are plenty of threads here discussing equipment that works, although nothing has been officially certified as yet.
