Hearing standards for medical

    Hi all,

I have a medical coming up soon and I have a query relating to the hearing standards required.

I am unsure of the meaning "total of 84dB over 0.5 - 1.2KHz", is this an average hearing loss over these frequencies? Also, is this a combination of both ears or just one ear?

I have had a hearing test done and my left ear is perfect, whilst my right ear has about 40 dB loss (average between 250Hz - 8000Hz).

    Any help much appreciated.
