Nope, Just a dusty strip and bales of hay! For the price of it and run's all day it seems worth it, but Im wondering have any insurance/safety issues been looked into with it?

How do you stand if you go for a drag and the other person gets a blow out and end's up bringing you into a field with him?

    Reckon so.
Not like an insurance company are going to get involved in a drag race dispute.
Could always try suing but I wouldn't fancy your chances.

Same as going to Mondello really, if someone lashes into ya, theres not a whole pile ya can do.

Id say it would be worth heading down for the spin. A bunch of us are meeting in the Applegreen on the Naas dual carriageway at 10.45 in the morning.

    The setup looks fairly dodgy!

Two different surfaces and its not even level!

Cheap at €30 for as many runs you want though.

Jesus, people give out about anything..

Both cars launch on a solid concrete base, after 100ft or so, one side stays concrete the other turns to tarmacadam.

Its not level, but both cars have the same, theres no timing, its all about the car longside you.

I had a great day down there, lots of cars with secrets under the hood there..

Well worth the money turn up at 12 and drag away till 6, as many runs as you want, and against who you want, and you dont have to drag your ass to enniskillen to do it...

I wasn't giving out about it though.

I was just stating it's not exactly a professional set up (which it isn't)

But for €30 a day and unlimited runs its a good option for people that don't mind.

I see your point, but theres people knocking it without even going down..

Just to point out im in no way affiliated with the running of this or indeed anyone that owns it.

I just think its a great idea, takes it off the roads, is somewhere central enough so you dont spend hours driving there, dragging, getting wrecked tired and spend hours driving home..

Everyone is the same, and even though its not 100% professional, who gives a **** about the time as long as you beat the guy longside you..

I'm starting to wish I'd went after taking a look at the videos.
The surface is fine but I would have concerns about someone hittin the yoke.
Although to be fair, it seemed like the drivers knew what they were doing.

Well i was thinking the same as yourself, i sat back and watched for the first 45mins before taking the car out, but then i realised it wasnt just **** boxes lining up to have a pop off one another, the people there were taking it right serious, making sure we were level on the line etc.

And they were all using proper tyres R888's and the like, and to be honest alot of the cars had engine conversions done.. there were a few suprises..

I know, that really surprised me when I heard there were people running R888s and entering stripped out cars.
I thought it'd be a lot more harmless that that.
If it takes off they might end up putting in a proper setup.
It's in a good location too.

I ended up taking to the owner on the way out as he knew i ran a website, he was saying if the attendance keeps up and the standard doesnt drop, he is going to make a full mile long strip with all the gear etc, he got a contractor to price it and he said it will cost 60,000 euro but he said it might pay for itself in 2 years.

If ya look at the pics i put up, alot of the cars look show worthy they are so clean. I think the lads in the **** boxes will stay away because they will win nothing and it isnt worth their while.

60k seems like a bargain for that sort of a setup.
Some nice yokes in the pictures right enough, fair few sleepers too by the sounds of it.

woo, i made it in to one pic. Had a short day out on the 26th, only managed 5 runs and had brake problems.

The last day I ran solid all day long from 12 - 6.

For those who knock the place, just don't bother going. It's getting people off the roads doing it. I've been to every one of these since they've started and the standard of cars has been very impressive, K20 eg's, DC5's, Evos, Scoobys. Lots of lads are using proper track tyres aswell as 888's etc.

€30 to lash up and down for the day is good value in my book. It's an hour from where I live which makes it all that much better then having to drive 5hrs to enniskillen.

May it only get better !

I would have hoped that people driving those standard of cars would be mature enough not to be drag racing on a public road anyway.

No one is knocking the place as such, just stating that its not for them which is a valid opinion.

At €30 for endless run's it is a good alternative option but what I'd really like to see is a proper setup somewhere in the Republic with a purpose built strip and proper timing equipment.

There is no reason for there not to be one in the Republic.

    Problaby should of been clearer

I dont see wats wrong with it once the general public arent been put at risk if you crash its your own fault I would honestly feel safer in a car doing 180 down a well built motorway then a car doing a 180 kmh down a field

    Me at 1.55 and 3.05

Shows the difference Road tyres and Track tyres makes, those civics got a good head start.
