I was thinking the other day and there's a lot of great places to lap claymores that will generally get you some quick kills.

    • The passage at the fiery truck on Scrapyard.
    • Both stairs at the central building on Derail.
    • At the corners on Wasteland.
    • The corner at the top of the ramp on Quarry.
    I could go on :p.

So, do you have any genius places to lay down the ole' claymores?

My friend usually place them at the cows arses on Wasteland and in Rundown, then shoots them, making it look like the cow's are farting fire.

If I have one available I always try and plant it in front of a tactical insertion. I since saw Tallon doing this in one of his videos.

Just inside the doorway on Skidrow, after the shed with a forklift and before the greenish coloured room with the bookshelf in the middle (underneath the B Flag on Domination). People are always sprinting through there, going from the A Flag to B or C.

In Bailout, at the top of the stairs, just outside the door on the left as you approach the B Flag on Domination, coming from the C Flag direction.

+1 on the Scrapyard one you mentioned.

I like leaving one at an angle behind the dumpster in the back alley on Skidrow by C.

Also stick one up on the top of the ladder into the warehouse by A on Quarry.

Leave one inside the door upstairs of the pharmacy building by C, that place gets heavy traffic.

Upstairs in the house on Estate, just on the landing to the right of the stairs at an angle.

There are dozens of good places really!

And why shudnt he? Im sure every young man at one stage or another has wondered what a dead virtual cow would look like farting fire.

Skidrow: In the alley on either side.
At the stairs on either side of the room overlooking the playground area.

Derail: Personal favourite is just at the entrance to bombsite A(the one infront of the warehouse).
Anywhere around the the other bombsite is good too as is at the top of the stairs in the 3 floor warehouse everyone goes to snipe from.

Rundown: In the house beside the deadcows or just at the end of the smaller footbridge over the other side.

Terminal: Any of the airplane entrances.
Either side of the gift shop and duty free shops.
    Top of the escalators.

Afghan: Round either corner of the high area that overlooks the part with the airplane.
Hidden in the grass between bombsite B and the trucks.

    Karachi: Top of the ladders.

Invasion: In the doorway beside bombsite A(i think) and in the grass beside the other bombsite as well as in the alley between the 2.

Estate: Any entrance to the house.
Entrances to the greenhouse (particularly at the top of the steps).

Quarry: At the top of the ramp.
Hard to describe areas in this map but the stretch at the far left with the trucks sitting in it is handy for placing claymores.

Sub Base: Any of the doorways as well as on the steps going up to the sniping points.

Underpass: Top of the steps in either of the "proper" buildings. In the grass round any of the many corners/narrow straight bits.

Wasteland: In the central bit if you can risk it.
Around the mattresses that you run past if you go around the tunnel instead of through.(hope that makes sense).

    Rust: Anywhere. ;)

I mainly play search and destroy, so getting the location right is crucial or it's a waste of equipment. In saying that, you need to adapt to where your enemies go, if someone continually goes to camp/snipe somewhere a claymore can be a nice present for the next time they arrive. I was once playing S&D in Rundown and heard one of the enemies on his mic inbetween a round warning everyone about me putting a claymore in the little house with the dead cows outside. Course all I had to do was stick the claymore round the side and within seconds the eejit on the mic was round thinking he'd catch me out. BOOM. :pac:

I'd like to think it goes without saying but if you're playing S&D and you see the enemy drop the bomb whack a claymore on/near it. I once took out an entire enemy team by claymoring the bomb (using scavenger). The best thing is that I imagine the dead enemies were all watching their teammates make the same mistake and get blown up. :pac:

In TDM a cool trick is to place a claymore somewhere near where you just spawned and then make your way to another part of the map, with any luck the other team will start spawning in your original spawn point and run into your claymore.

I sometimes be a bit of a d1ck, and say if I see a few of my teammates camping, say in the Main building in Salvage, and they've a claymore set at the top of the stairs, I'll put mine ever so slightly in front of theirs and go play propoerly; Thus stealing their kill. Mwahaha :)

The funny thing is that enemies who know there's campers in there will probably assume the coast is clear after your claymore is blown up.

Wouldn't the first claymore blow up the camper's one, since they're so close together? Always thought that's how it works.

Highrise, at corners in the underground passageways and just at the top of the steps where the helicopter is.

Also at the top of the ladder beside the gas tank.

What does it take to blow this up? As in will a single semtex work? Or does it need a RPG etc? Or do you need a chopper gunner to do it?

I can think of several places you can stick your claymores - may want to turn em sideways however :)

Well it depends on how close together they are. If you put them too close the enemy might not die from the 1st explosion but get killed by the 2nd, so you'd only get an assist.

Its very easy to do, usually a mag of an assault rifle or a semtex will do it, RPG or AT4 will do it straight away.

i place them where i think the enemys are most likely to walk by.

fav place is in estate theres a truck beside a fence. its on the side where the boat house is. you plant it between the truck and the fence people walk by and set it off then the truck catches fire and explodes

Cheers. It's handy to know, as quite often you'll see someone camped on that ledge, and it's a nice way to get a cheap kill. Similar to the Red Roof on Terminal where shooting the oil barrell will blow it up, which in turn will blow up the Propane tank and clear anyone on that roof. :)

On High rise and terminal its one of the first things to do especially when playing domination as it provides good over watch to the other team if they control the B point, send up a sticky and take B :)

In Favela, at the top of the stairs in the barbershop at the bottom of the map. And also iside the doorway of the building across from it. (the one with the broken wall that aims directly at the barbershop.)
