Late MOT test

I don't know if this is in the right forum, but I need some advice on MOT testing. I have a test booked for the 28th june (MOT expires on 30th). The date can be changed if necessary up to this Thursday, but the next available test date is the 5th of July.
My question is, can you legally bring a car to its MOT after the MOT has expired (I wouldn't drive it apart from to the test centre)?
I can't seem to find the answer on the website, so I'll probably phone tomorrow but any advice in the meantime would be appreciated :)

    Chauffe, Marcel, chauffe!

    Hi Milly

Boards.ie is an Irish site, we do not have an MOT over here but we do have an NCT. But maybe there are some British posters around here who can help you out?

Hey Milly, this is a predominantly Republic of Ireland site so I'm not sure you will get an answer here.

I *think* I heard before though that you can drive a car to your local MOT centre with an expired MOT

Yes you can drive to an MoT station in the UK/NI if you have a test booked (if the car is safe to drive I assume...)..you can also drive it to a garage for booked work to secure an MoT. Happy to help,
