I want to but a new 40" / 42" Backlit LED Full HD TV in coming days. I will also need a new TV stand and a Blu-Ray Player.

I want a reliable TV with a good picture quailty. One thing I notice with some LCD TVs is the drag effect when watching fast motion sports / action movies etc.., this is something that I want to avoid.

DID have a Philips 40PFL5605H/05 c/w TV Stand & Blu-ray Player for €999 which seems to be a good deal.

Any feedback on this Philips TV or recommendations on other suitable TVs would be appreciated.

If you're going with the Philips (haven't seen it myself, but hear its a good tv) you might wanna head over to Richersounds / Philips Shop forum on boards. (Biz -> talk to.. -> Richersounds.ie) and get a quote of them for a similar package. I think Ashley handles Philips Shop stuff. Probably be able to do you a better deal or at least give you an extended warranty.

    scarr

Purchased this package from Harvey Normans recently with a more expensive stand from display than the one advertised and with a "Monster" hdmi cable thrown in.
Excellent tv,just update the firmware, download from the Philips website and install via a usb stick for both the Blue Ray player and the Tv.
This Tv has a very low power consumption(110w) as opposed to some of the plasmas of similar size which would be over the 200w mark and Lcd`s close to the 200 mark as well.Check the labels on the back of the Tv`s before you purchase anything.Have to do your bit for the enviroment and your pocket.:)
