Same here. No 3G all day. I came home and reconnected my iPhone to my PC and my iphone was ready to be unlocked. I unlocked it and it has been working fine since about 7pm. Don't know if this was helpful in any way.

There were a good few people complaining about it, and apparently it can be caused by using the backup in iTunes after you restore. If you set it up as a new phone, its ok. It worked for me, but you will wipe the phone and lose your SMS messages.

FWIW, o2 had a nationwide 3G problem not related to iOS4 for a lot of yesterday, so people might have been affected by that and forgot the golden rule that correllation != causation.

Another possible problem is that your APN, in Settings>General>Networ>Cellular Data Network, may have gotten wiped by the update. It should be set to "internet".

    MMS Proxy 62.40.32.40:8080
    MMS Max Message Size 307200

Rebooting the phone sorted alot of problems for me. Though podcasts seemed out of sync etc but new ones work fine so hey.
