Has anyone played Padel in Spain or Portugal, it is very enjoyable cross between Tennis and Squash, better explained here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Padel_tennis I played it a few times over the last few years. I know the play it in the UK but I haven't heard of it in Ireland.

Yep I play it every time I go to Spain and I absolutely LOVE it!:D

Played with an underarm serve that suitm me down to the ground!

I have played on different types of courts too, ones with Brick and ones

with Perspex (i think) but certainly a glass type wall, which I prefer.

Its a lot faster than tennis obviously because of the smaller court, and if

I were to choose between the both of them,I would have to say that I

    actually prefer Padel to Tennis!:pac:

As for padel courts in Ireland I seriously doubt it,but you know if I were

ever to build my own house ,there would be a Padel court on the grounds!

And that may be the only one in the country at that point! (dreams)

If you do happen to locate one do let me know!

I think its a very underated game, I am really surprised its not avaialble in Ireland. There does appear to be slight variations of the rules and court types. I am involved in a small committee that is looking at building new tennis courts, not very far from Dublin. I am trying to convince them to include 2 Padel courts but I am having a tough time. They are quite sceptical because of lack of knowledge, I suppose.

Great fun it is , I thought cos im so used to playing tennis it would be difficult for me , but i took to it really quick.

I am actually surprised it's not in Ireland cos it is "weather proof", the courts are quite sheltered.
