draketuning boxes for diesel

    anyone have any experience of these in common rail diesels? experiences good and bad? not looking for comments on chips in general just these ones.. it seems to be working well so far but it was almost too cheap so wondering if any catch

    How much was it?

    Is it one of those ebay boxes, |I hope not. All they are is a resistor incased in resin in a blastic box. They fool the ecu into thinking the temp is cooler and it pushes in more fuel. Very crude.

    Even the better digital tuning boxes are old hat at this stage. Remapping through the cars diag port has replaced seperated boxes and is a far better way of getting more power.

    Proper remap on a rolling road is the real way to do this.

    I actually bought one to give me a power boost while I was waiting for a remap. Useless wouldn't even cut it. It just pumps more diesel in, which destroys your economy, and can cause the engine to stutter at high revs. Mine was for a Rover 75/BMW e46 320d.

    strangely enough im not seeing any issues with it.. low down torque as well as serious improvement in acceleration. will see how it goes after full tank..
