    first i am sorry if this is posted in the wrong section but i am selling a nokia n97 mini and advertised it on gumtree and i got a reply off a lady asking about asking price even though it was posted on the add any i replied with the asking price and heard nothing for a few days and this evening got a email off the lady again and this is what was in it

    i am willing to proceed with the transaction now and pay you £330
    which include p&p.kindly login to your paypal account and select the
    request money button located at the top of your paypal account
    homepage and send the money request directly to my paypal account id
    which is *********@yahoo.co.uk so that i can submit payment to
    you via paypal right now as paypal is safe, fast and easy to send and
    receive money online.

    If you dont have a paypal account just logon to www.paypal.com and set
    up your paypal account, after setting up your paypal account you
    locate the request money button located at the top of your paypal
    account home page, use it to request money directly from my paypal
    account which is ********@yahoo.co.uk once I receive your money
    request from paypal, I will submit payment to you immediately via
    paypal asap.

    Get back asap.

    If you don't pay any money or give any financial details to her or send the phone before getting money then it can't go wrong.

    Btw, you prob shouldnt have her email posted up on this page.

    Sure once she doesn't ask for your details,or you send her the phone before you get the money,you should be alright..see how it goes sure.

    You can work out someone's location if they send you an e-mail.
    This guide should show you how to do it.

    You could also try googling the e-mail address. If it has years' worh of stuff associated with it, it might be safe. If it's newly set up, I'd be worried.

    All I had to do was copy and paste the entire 2nd paragaph into Google and I got a link to this page:

    As you can see, that's almost the exact same email you were sent.

    Apparently the scam is that they send you €0.00 and pretend PayPal is holding the funds until you send the goods to the buyer.

    So clearly it's a scam. But sure go for it if you want to, and see if that's what she [or he] says! :)

    EDIT: I've left in the copied email address so you can see they use different names for the same scam, and since it's a scammer I feel no need to protect their email address from bots or spam. But if the mods feel it should be removed please work away. :)

    why not ask and get the opinion of other people because i am not one of the people that will jump into it with both feet and then when get stung complain and moan about it anyway why not have it out in the open

    thanks for that and yes thats very fishy alright but i am not going to reply or go ahead with the transaction i have googled the second paragraph like you did and wow was there a lot of people saying it was a scam
