Sounds like a bug, start a fresh session in an new folder on your hard drive and give it another go? Thats if your not in the middle of a session! Try rebooting and reloading too. You could also check to see if you have selected mute as an automation parameter on the edit window. You could try rolling back to a previous version of the session.

I think I saw something in Preferences today about that ...I think it's so you can be running a track record ready and be monitoring through a desk , not through protools ?

    PT 8 , yea ?

Hi dav, thanks, had tried that but no joy.

Hi Paul, thanks, it's 7.3 coz I still haven't decided on a new Mac. Ya, it's a preference somewhere but I can't figure out which one. I've asked another dude and he can't remember either! :/ Workaround today was use a duplicate vocal track for the drop in, but I'd still like to know what changed to cause this issue.

I have found a bug in sessions where it simply doesn't record! It's so amateur when that happens, but its a complex program so every once in a while isn't so bad.
