Is it on Sky? If so hit the Sky button and if that doesn't work hit the Skybox off and back on 30 seconds later. Any other channels working?

Plug it out, check all your connections and plug it back in.

Where are you? Sounds like the local signal could be dead.

Same thing happened here (co.clare). Watching expose and then just got static. Getting it on all 4 channels, although can tune them in to really really bad pictures (normally the picture is very good).

This also happened last week and affected the radio as well. Thought it was me as the tv went in the am, then got into the car and the radio was static as well:eek: Asked a few people at work and their radios were also gone while driving to work.

TV was all fine when I got home in the evening, so don't know what it was/is:confused:

Do you have sky in your bedroom are are you just on the Free To Air (FTA) services. All seem fine to me if you are just watching via FTA.

As amacachi says it could be a local transmitter problem.

Sky is a different system to RTÉ NL transmitters, so Sky can work fine regardless of the issues with RTÉ's transmitters.

Of course they are, it's a different signal being received by the Sky box.

RTÉ has confirmed that its Maghera transmitter is temporarily out of action.

This means that listeners in the west are unable to hear any RTÉ Radio stations.

Repair crews are working to restore it and listeners can switch to LW 252.

Mine has just come back on. Reception is perfect again. Seems like it was a transmitter problem - there in one that serves both clare & galway.

Edit: just seen above - confirmation of transmitter problem

That link was for last Friday when the same problem occurred.
The tv stations are just back on air now at 6:46pm.

Sorry about the RTÉ link that was from a few days ago when you lost your radio signals.
