    Hi all,

I'm in need of a bit of sound advice. I have a 00 Galant TD and it is heating up and using all the coolant. It only does this on long journeys. I have been told by those in the Business that the Head will need to done. He also said it might be better to purchase a new engine and just replace it.

Is there anybody who can recondition this engine or am I just better off replacing it. The car is otherwise mint.

    Regards in advance

    Mick

Head gasket. Easily fixed. Cylinder head might need to be skimmed if it has warped so it might costs a bit.

seems a bit extreme to replace the whole engine for just a head gasket....
easy job... does cost a few quid... but a lot cheaper than replacing the engine...
