Myself and a good few friends are thinking about going to Galway or Achill or one of those places, for as cheap as possible. Anybody have any suggestions for a cheap place? We'd probably stay there for approximately a week. Thanks

achill seems a strange choice, its really nice there (if the weather is good) but its quiet even at the height of summer

i think best bet is somewhere with a bit more buzz given the obvious age group involved, westport, galway would be the two obvious choices in the west, bundoran ain't too bad. galway would be my choice, you have the bars/clubs, if you want to go swimming etc salthill, want to go scenery spotting tours to aran islands, cliffs of moher/burren leave everyday

Nothing too cheap about Galway anyway. Great spot though, but I would think a good few €'s would be needed for a week there.

Camping on Achill would be your cheapest bet.

It works out cheaper if you get a last minute deal for Spain or something as Galway's very dear.
