Has anyone else noticed a ridiculas amount of moths about lately?? Maybe it`s just where I live but in my flat there are always at least 5 moths (small ones) flying around at any one time and today it was like a horror film-I dozed off and woke up to find the room FULL of them and I mean full-there were about 20 moths flying around and it really freaked me out. Walking down the stairs the place is full of them as well. I spend a crazy amount of time running around the room swatting them. Im going mad at this stage!
Has anyone else noticed this? Second question...how the hell do you get rid of the feckers?

Do you have the lights on and the windows open? Because that's what attracts them in...
I fought off a giant moth of death recently... 'twas the size of a coffee mug - scared the sh*t out of me...

Nope, they manage to get in even with the windows closed as they fly in from the landing whenever I open the door (landing and stairs are full of them). Today I did leave the window open but it was mid day so the light was off. Woke up to find the room full of them and nearly had a heart attack.

Moths are famously afraid of Eurotrance music especially the vocal trance stylings of DJ Sammy, Astroline and Jessy De Smet. If you set up a stereo system in your house that plays music by these artistes on a loop loudly 24 hours a day you will soon find that you won't even notice the moths after a while.

I've seen a lot of giant moths around lately alright.

I wonder what they did before the lightbulb was invented?

    I absolutely despise moths.

One day I had pots and pans out trying to hit them but only made a mere fool of myself by missing and waking everybody else up in the house.

I was sitting on the toilet bowl and then all of a sudden one flew up from inside it, I nearly got a heart attack. My initial thought was that there was a rat jumping out of the toilet at me. :o

    Quit your jibber jabber, fool!

Its not that big a deal - I was in Sydney in 2007 and that was a moth invasion!

OMG! I was in Sydney for that too! I still have nightmares. I was staying in a crappy motel and there was just enough room for them to crawl under the door. I did not sleep a wink!

It sounds like Ruthie-Roux has a clothing moth larvae infestation and they are hatching in the apartment.

Moral of the story - always look inside the toilet before sitting down... ;)

I'm more concerned about the amount of bluebottles. Its like a plague from the bible or something.

I think since the introduction of the brown bin - they have a perfect breeding ground. Hence the stupid amount of them

Maybe you should clean your brown bin once in awhile - we've got one and rarely get a bluebottle in the house...

Stupid bloody things. Nocturnal animals/insects who like light. Moronic. Get up in the morning ye feckers.

also how did they survive one generation before artifical light. Shouldn't they have all been burned by fire, or some sort?

    Stupid things.

Chap goes into the chemist and asks for something to get rid of moths. The chemist suggests moth balls and gives him a half dozen.
Next day the chap arrives back at the chemists and looks for some more mothballs. The chemist asks why? He says those moths are very hard to hit when they're flying.
