Any ideas on how much it is to replace brake pads on a Pug 306 in the likes of Advance Pitstop or Fastfit?

Had a nosey around on their websites and no joy. Have to stop in there at 8:30am on the way to work and hopefully get em replaced on the spot as I've nothing but calipers on discs at the mo after a trip from KK to waterford!

    Ask them in advance.

p.s. Strikes me you have no choice but to get them done. You need brakes.

If they are anything like my local advance I would avoid. Quoted me €230 for ONE SET of pads on a mondeo! Ordered them myself from Micksgarage website and and Local mechanic did it - €90 total.

 Wow. I recently got a quote from a ford dealers for my focus for changing both sets of pads AND discs for 250 euro. Id imagine they are pretty similar on your mondeo. Its crazy that advance are much dearer than the main dealers.

I will but I would like to have an idea of how much it is going to cost first. Like I said, I'll have to stop in on my way to work at 8:30 in the morning to try and get it done and need to try organise the finances!

Can they do it for you there and then send you the bill inthe post to clear later?

Is it just the front pads you need done? or the rear also?

You'd be looking at €20 for the pads, then say €60 to fit, then VAT, so i'd say €100 would be fair.

The rear drums are on the way out also but can wait, front one's are priority. €100 is ok on short such short notice.

We'll find out in a few hours sure i guess!

Thanks for all the info guy. :)

I got a quote of 500 from fastfit for pads and discs alround. Advance roughly same.
Shopped around and got it done for 275. Been back to them again and great service.
Dont go near advance or fastfit is my advice.
Got droplinks done in advance bout a year ago and they didnt tighten wheel fully and nearly fell off on way home. Only i noticed vibration and got out to take a look. Small disclaimer on reciept as well to check wheel nuts!!!

I've been in a Advance pitstop for a basic oil change, because I didn't have time to do it myself. After I left from there, discovered that they f3cked my engine underguard, and it was making a horrible noise not being fixed in it's position. I guess that if they can't handle a simple job like that, I wouldn't let them touch the brakes.

Well I called into Advance first thing this morning, €90 euro fitted to replace the front pads.

Went across the road (literally) to Fastfit, €60 fitted! Horay!

Got the car up on the ramp, wheels off, disc's absolutly knackered, had to be replaced on the spot, €200 for everything! :(
