    hi lil'bug,

You can find all the info here:

    http://www.groireland.ie/getting_married.htm

You need to notify your local registry office at least 3 months in advance and you will need:
    • Passport as ID
    • Birth Certificate
    • If either party is divorced, original final decrees in respect of all previous divorces
    • If widowed, death certificate of the previous spouse and the civil marriage certificate for their first marriage
    • Their PPS Numbers (where either or both of the parties have one)
    • Fee of €150 as above

You will also need to tell them:
    • the intended date of marriage
    • whether they you're civil or religious ceremony,
    • the names and dates of birth of witnesses
    • details of the proposed solemniser and venue.

and then you have to fill out the form declaring their are no impediments to your marriage (like that you're married already etc)

Then they issue you a Marriage Registration Form which is what you need to get married.

Anyway that's a synopsis of what's on GRO, but first thing to do is call the local registry office and talk to them.

    Good luck!

    and Congratulations :D

I would recommend that you apply earlier as sometimes the waiting list is so long that it can take some months to get an appointment to see the Registrar.
The form they will issue you will be good for 6 months.
Also, be sure to have every single document ready, having to go back again because you forgot something would be a royal pain and will hold up proceedings.
