Trip to New York with out Manhattan

Hi ,

Im looking for some alternatives...been to Manhattan twice so have 3 nights to explore outside the city...

Got a wedding nead Woodbury commons on the Sat and land in JFK on the Tuesday....

Was thinking maybe pick up a car and go on a road trip maybe Boston...maybe hamptons and Atlantic city...

Any suggestions ??

Head up to Niagara falls? Might take a whole day though. Hamptons are nice. Nice scenery.

i read the drive doesnt warrant the falls....it would be 14 hours of driving

You're only about 1/2 hour drive from Newburgh, home of Orange County Chopper if that interests you and about 2 hours from the Catskill Mountains.

having lived in various parts of new jersey and also in queens, nyc, i would highly recommend staying well away from atlantic city

maybe stay in williamsburg or somewhere outside of manhattan but still in NY

A few people have suggested staying away from Atlantic city alright...Thanks !

Driving to Niagra is looking more likely, anything to do along the way to break up the drive ?

Got a plan together

Day 1 - Jfk – somewhere in direction of the falls drive 4hours

Day 2 – somewhere to Toronto max 3hrs drive

Day 3 –Toronto to falls 1hrs

Day 4 – Falls to Wedding place 5hrs


That would give day and half in toronto , an afternoon and evening in niagra and lots along the way

Why dont you drive to cape cod or provincetown? If you changed your return flight to fly back from Boston it would save you alot of hassle because you could tag it on to the end of your trip without having to drive back to NYC.

The wedding is in central valley , near woodbury common , so need to go back home from jfk....

Our minds set on niagra now , so any tips would be appreciated

Saratoga is about half way up to Canada. Lovely town to stop in for a break. If you are travelling in August the famous races are on.

Yes but I just noticed you were heading to Toronto. Saratoga takes you way out of your way. Good place to stop if you are heading to Montreal.
