Wimbledon Tickets

I've heard plenty of rumours of how difficult it is to get tickets for Wimbledon and how much people can end up paying for tickets, but I was wondering if anyone has actually gone over/had friends go over that can give me an idea of what to expect if I was to go over next year?
I'd love to see Federer playing, I'm assuming his matches would be one of the most in-demand, the website says first round matches on centre court were only £41 this year so maybe there is hope!
Can anyone shed any light on how quickly they sell out?
And if touting with extortionate prices really does occur (Rumour I heard)?

I was there a few years ago, 2006 I think. Got grounds tickets for Round 4 by queing from around 7am I think, maybe a bit later. Got show court tickets for Women's Quarter Finals by queueing from about 8pm the night before. This got us courtside tickets, we were about 11th in the queue or something. Unless you've been before, I think it's well worth it. The queueing is fine. Everyone is in good spirits and pizza bikes come by so you can order take away.

Went to day 2 3 years ago, joined the very good natured queue at 6.30am, got in about 9ish I think, had a great day mainly sitting at the back of court 3 where you see see into court 2 and across to a couple of other courts, an obligatory hour on the hill, strawberries, all that guff. The first 2 days are great, so many matches, big players on the outside courts. A great day out even for someone like me who's not into following tennis
