iPhone ringtones or message tones not working

    Hi there. When I receive incoming calls SMS etc, my iPhone will not make any sound even though I have the sound on. If I try to edit in sounds I can play the ringtone. Also my alarm does make noise so it not that speaker gone. I have reset all settings but still no joy. Anybody any advice? Thanks

    Have you accidentally knocked the little switch on the side off? It turns off the ringer.

    Yes that's exactly what i had done. Didn't know the purpose of that switch. Thanks very much for that
